Founded in 2015 by our neighbor Théo Ginsberg, Forty Knots No Smoke is a one-man bag and accessories company built around the buy-it-once, last-a-lifetime mentality. He sources leathers from the finest Manhattan suppliers and handcrafts every item. 

And the name? Turns out it’s an old naval expression Théo’s grandfather used to say when things in life were good. So the next time someone asks how you’re doing, you can reply with “You know what...forty knots, no smoke.”
